Transfer students are a welcome addition to Elms College, bringing fresh perspectives and vitality to campus. You’ll be greeted warmly by faculty, staff, and fellow students.
We accept applications on a rolling basis and will begin to review as early as October. You can fill out the Common Application, or paper application. You will find everything you need to complete your application on our apply page.
We work one-on-one with transfer students to determine your choice of major, transfer credits, and how long it will take you to graduate. After you apply, we will review your transcript for content in the liberal arts to determine if your previous courses satisfy our core requirements and the requirements for your intended major. You will receive a credit evaluation that outlines this information.
You can transfer up to 75 credits from other institutions towards a bachelor’s degree for 100-level or higher courses completed within the last 10 years and for which you have achieved a “C-” grade or better. Courses required for the nursing major must have a grade of “B-” to be accepted for transfer credit.
We also have articulation and transfer agreements with many area colleges to make your transition as seamless as possible.
Elms College offers merit-based scholarships to full-time transfer students. Students are awarded a merit scholarship at the time of admission.
Transfer Counselors are available to answer questions via phone or email and also have office hours at Holyoke Community College (HCC) and Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). HCC and STCC office hours run September through May.
